Batch Solvent recovery system which is used to recover MEK (Methyl-Ethyl-Keton solvent from process waste containing MEK, TBME (Methyl-tert-Butylether or MTBE), water and DBU (1.8 Diazabicyclo [5.4.0] undec 7 ende) to a suitable specification of 99.5 wt.%, designed by Sulzer. Waste feed is 2990kg per batch, weekly batch quantity is 12 per week, unit runs 7 days per week, cycle time is 10 hours per batch, number of batches to be treated in the batch vessel is 3, this equals a total of 3 x 10hr=30hrs for treating batches of each 2990kg + the intrafraction recycle, the intrafraction cut will be recycled into the next batch, target recovery of MEK is higher than 82%, target concentration of recovered MEK is >99.5 wt.% , minimal volume for stirring in R140 is 500 liter, stirring of the mixture is to keep solids in suspension system consists of:
